Dragons Dream #172 The Letter "P" and Cogs

This time around over at the Dragons Dream TIO it's the fabulous Gabrielle's choice of "Cogs" and the letter "P".
I'd been having a play about with a cog embossing folder inking it up with Distress Ink, and then running through the eBosser, love the effect this creates, texture as well as colour.
The stamps I've used are a mixture of Artemio and Kaisercraft, and the "P" well of course what else but Paris, well overdue a trip there!!!
So we would love to see cogs and something with the letter "P" on your tags this time around, and of course as usual at least one real stamp.

The Butterfly Challenge - Spots and Stripes

A very late entry for Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge Spots and Stripes I don't use pink very often, but this Picked Raspberry is yummy!
I used it to stamp out the IndigoBlu "Bubbles Background" for the spots, and then using the edge of a Slim Jim, made the stripes. I added a little more ink around the edge, then decided I wanted the whole panel pink, who doesn't do pink???
The butterfly is from "Nature 1" was stamped out with FlitterGlu and Chariots of Fire "Mega Flakes" were added, the edge of the panel also has the same treatment.
It looked a little lost on the white card base, so I added a few pink butterflies for the background, and raised the panel on foam pads.

Happy News and Meet Miss Dolly!

Hard to believe but this time last week I was over in Retford, home of the fabulous IndigoBlu HQ and their amazing team! I had two fabulous days working along side some incredibly talented Ladies and of course the uber talent that is Kay Halliwell-Sutton!

The outcome being that I am now one of their new official demonstrators - yippppeeeeee - very excited as you can tell, so I've been a little quiet since I came home as I've been busy making samples to take out with me, I'll share some more of these over the next few days.

This is my Summer Mannequin, using the beautiful Dinkie Flutterby stamped in Peacock Brilliance ink onto tissue and then slapped on with, yes you guessed, Slap It On Matt. She also has Mega Flake wings, flittered on to some packaging, as it was sturdier than acetate, and I though it would travel a little better.
The she has been finished off using bits of lace trim, ribbons and beads from my stash.

The beauty of altering a Mannequin it that when you get fed up of what she's wearing, you can paint over and start again, simples!

Dragons Dream TIO #171 The letter "H" and Brown

This time around at the Dragons Dream TIO May has chosen the theme of Brown and the letter "H". I started with a tag shape cut from watercolour card, and inked with a mix of shabby shutters and brushed corduroy, I wanted the green to pick out the dots on the paper piecing, and lift the colour a little. The couture stamp from Dylusions is fabulous, with a bow added to the coat and a plain hat to co-ordinate. The letter stamps were £1 in our local craft shop in Llandudno a few years ago, and are in regular use.
So there you have it, we would love to see Brown, the letter "H" and of course at least one real stamp on your tags.

Sunday Stampers #316 Everyday I Write the Book

Hels chosen theme this week at the Sunday Stampers Challenge is "Everyday I write the Book". I haven't entered anything for ages, so was determined to join in again this week.
This is a recycled project partly from an old Dragons Dream tag and also from a box my sat nav arrived in (off on my travels this week, steer clear of the M60 lol).
I was never happy with my tag, but loved the butterfly and the bookpage paper, so inspired by the corrugated piece of box that I'd ripped and painted with "Mermaid" Fresco paint, I ripped into it to create a shape to fit onto the cardboard, and added some paint around the edges.
I was going to pop the whole thing on to a canvas, but decided that I liked the shape as it was, so just added eyelets and garden twine, which I think looks fab with kraft and corrugated cardstock.
Happy now I am, lol.

Craft Stampers Take It Make It Challenge - Resist

The new challenge over at theCraft Stampers Take It Make It has been running for a week now, and we've already had some amazing entries. The winner (to be chosen by the DT) will not only win a fab prize from WOW Embossing Powders, but will also have their project printed in the Magazine itself, so how could you "resist" that!!!!!
I've had a play with my favourite IndigoBlu butterfly, stamped in versamark and then heat embossed with clear powder.
Then with a mix of picked raspberry, wild honey and mustard seed distress inks, I brushed over the top of the embossed images, adding a little more picked raspberry around the edge of the butterfly wings.
The sentiment is from another of IndigoBlu's sets, Poppy Meadow, another of my favourites!
So have a go at the resist technique using whatever medium you prefer, inks, watercolours etc and join in the challenge!!!!

Craft Stamper's Take It Make It Challenge - Resist

We have a new challenge this morning over at the Craft Stamper's Blog and our fabulous sponsors this time are WOW Embossing powders.
We would love you to join in the Take It Make IT Challenge using the heat embossing resist technique, and your choice of colouring materials watercolours, inks etc.
I've used Woodware stamps, Versamark Ink and clear WOW powder to create my resist, and then inked over with a mix of Shabby Shutters and Salty Ocean Distress Inks.
I used stippling brushes to apply the ink, as I wanted to get into the centre of the flowers, and make them a different colour.
Finally the finished piece was matted onto a piece of green card with a Martha Stewart border punched out, and added to a 6" square card base.
We would love to see what you make with the resist technique,  for more inspiration check out what the rest of the fabulous Design Team have created, they are uber talented! Please make sure you include real stamping on your projects and link back to the challenge blog so we can pay you a visit.
Good Luck, Elizabeth xxx

Dragons Dream TIO #170 The Letter "K" and a Heart

This time around at the Dragons Dream TIO the very talented Silvia has chosen the theme of Hearts and the Letter "K".
Whilst I've been having a clear out and moving things around in my workroom, I found this little topper of a couple, She is looking into his gorgeous brown eyes and waiting to be kissed, well that's what I thought anyway lol.
The Kraftcard has been inked around the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and the word stamps are from Anna Griffin.

The bird is from Tilda paper pad and the heart charm from my slightly tidier stash!!
We would love you to join us in our fortnightly challenge, just please remember to use at least one real stamp on your tag.
