Flowers are the Life - IndigoBlu
Good morning from the cold, wet and windy Welsh coast. Days like these are just perfect for a good crafting session in the warm, with plenty of hot drinks and biscuits!
I think we have all fallen in love with the new Victorian Garden set of stamps, they are absolutely gorgeous, and as always Kay finds the perfect sentiments to accompany the designs.
I started off by blending four shades of Luscious Powders to a Bockingford tag, letting it dry, and then adding another layer over the top. See how the colour becomes richer with the extra layer.
Whilst the second layer of Luscious Powders were still wet, I flicked water over the top, and left it to do it's own thing.
As it's drying out it creates the most beautiful patterns with the Luscious Powders they are almost like snowflakes, now there's another idea!!
Once the tag had completely dried out, I stamped out the Dandelion from the Victorian Garden Stamp Set three times, and heat embossed them using a fine white embossing powder from Stampendous.
Then with the small flower stamp, added some floating seeds being carried away on the breeze. These were also heat embossed with the fine white powder. This is such a useful stamp as it could be snow, stars or all sorts of things.
I wanted the tag to have a soft pretty look, so I decided to stamp the sentiment using Hydrangea Blue Stazon ink, as Black would have been too hard. I edged around the tag with the same ink, to tie the colours together.
Next using the 2in1 Glue Pen from Stix2 I added some Unicorn Sparkles. The pen nib is so fine and is just perfect for adding details exactly where you want them. If you haven't tried one, then you definitely need to, they are a must!
I hope you have a great weekend, happy crafting.

My project is one of the new Junk and Disorderly Journal's from IndigoBlu. I started work on the cover whilst at the Stitches Trade show at the NEC so sadly don't have any step by step pictures. It combines the Feather Stencil, Texture Paste, Mindfulness Stamp Set, Bubbles Background and of course lots of Luscious Powders, my little addiction ;) and just a few sequins..........
Happy Crafting
