I decided to add four handstitched signatures to the inside of my journal. They are created with Strathmore watercolour paper in a taupe shade. I thought this would make a change from using white.

I cut the left over flowers in half and added them up to the fold of the spine. I love the clash of the turquoise and red.

I did this to both front and back inside covers and the journal is ready to be worked in.

This month we are showing some love for Eileen's new Stencils, this isn't difficult as they are fabulous!
https://elizabethr-thecraftyrobin.blogspot.com/2024/07/a-hrefhttpsblogger.html
I started with a Notebook die cut from Matboard as a base to add my decoupaged napkin onto. I love this bird design it's a little vintage but also a little oriental. I postitioned the bird and branches across the two corners, that would enable me to add flowers later.

Once I'd glued the napkin over onto the inner cover, I let it dry before adding Gold Lustre Wax around all of the edges.

I chose a bright coral/red to line the inside covers as a contrast to the outside covers. It picks up the colour of the blossom in the tree. It's easy to create a lining, just die cut from your chosen paper and trim it down to fit, that way the shaped corners fit perfectly to your Notebook.

Using the stencil I added Inktense through the design to build up the colours on the flowers and leaves. Once these were completely dry I die cut them using the co-ordinating Painterly Blooms Thinlits. So easy to do just a little lining up and the jobs done.

I aadded thoe flowers and leaves to the branches on the front cover, so the original branches and blossom still show through. This gives the illusion of extra depth to the branches.

And to finish off of course I have to create a woven and beaded spine using Eileen's Jewel Loom, which is the perfect size to create a decorative spine for journals and notebooks. And great fun to use!

I used a selection of square glass beads and some deep green DMC thread leftover from a cross stitch project.
