IndigoBlu Colour This Canvas

I've been having a play again with the new flower stamps from IndigoBlu
They are fabulous crisp clean images when stamped out, and just scream to have colour added, hence the name of the series "Colour This".

I started off by giving a 14" square canvas a couple of coats of black Gee-Sso-Good to create a flat matt background to showcase the flowers, which were stamped out and heated embossed with a fine black embossing powder before adding colour with some Caran d' Ache permanent colour pencils. Then to intensify the colour and add some metallic sheen, I painted over the top with a watered down mixture of Cinderella Metallic Paint blending out towards the edge of the petals. I trimmed the edges and matted onto black card stock.

Then it was back to the canvas and using the new Tasty Textures Stamps to create a background for the flowers using FlitterGlu and the very gorgeous Copper Kettle MegaFlakes.

I love the texture when you use flake onto a canvas, it catches on the fibres and gives a lovely distressed look to a project.

Then it was just a case of working out where to arrange the Flowers, and attach then to the canvas. I like to use the wider double sided red tape for this as it's much stronger, and adding a word from the Plume Stamp Set in Megaflake to finish off. And it looks like I've created a map of the UK with my flake ;)

This canvas is beautiful Elizabeth. I just love it! Love your colour choices. The copper kettle is my favourite mega flake in the range.
