Framed in Blue - for Indigoblu

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to my shared post from IndigoBlu

I started by adding Fine Modelling Paste through both the Roses Stencil and also the Diamond Stencil once dry I painted over the whole canvas with White GeeSsoGood before I spritzed over the top with diluted Kingfisher Blue Metallic Paint

Then using leftover scraps of paper's which had already had a coat of GeeSsoGood and a little colour added, I built up strips, square and oblongs in a random pattern.

Once I was happy with the position of the papers and they had been adhered to the canvas, I started to add more colour, by painting along the edges of the papers, spritzing and splattering with Kingfisher Blue Metallic Paint Raven Black Metallic Paint and also White GeeSsoGood At this stage it looks really messy.

I cut out the Lady from the front cover of the Lost Family Mixed Media Card Stack as she was just the right size to fit inside my little resin frame, which had been spritzed at the same time I spritzed the canvas.

I mounted it onto the canvas and added black sequins, glass glitter, 3d pearls, flowers, lace and a wooden word painted with Raven Black Metallic Paint

They sit perfectly against all the messy paint splatters.

Happy Crafting and I hope to see some of you at the IndigoBlu Open Day on Monday 30th May at HQ.

Candy Box Crafts Beach Huts

How cool are these Triple Beach Huts from Candy Box Crafts they were so easy to assemble, just follow the guide letter's and match A to A etc and add a little Cosmic Shimmer glue. I covered mine with some of the fabulous weathered wood papers from Kaisercraft.

There's lots of flat surface to decorate, so you can have fun with die cuts, stencils and paste etc.

And of course there is a lovely big space at the back of the hut's which just screamed out for a seaside theme with lots of textures and Mica powders.

Candy Box Crafts - Eye Candy!!

I absolutely love Candy Box Crafts they have the most amazing high quality MDF storage, which are perfect for us crafters, along with some fabulous kits to build and decorate. So when I was asked if I would like to decorate a few pieces for them, I jumped at the chance.

I've assembled and decorated quite a few of the products from their range, the clever way that they are designed makes them very easy to put together. The only tools you need are wet glue, a few elastic bands,  and a good imagination.

This fabulous Lantern has lots of scope, it would look fabulous with lots of vintage flowers and butterflies on the gift's table at a wedding, or bright and funky for a summer garden party or as I've done with a quirky Alice in Wonderland theme, using Graphic45 papers, IndigoBlu stamps and Paints.

Such great fun to do and of course battery operated candles or tea lights are a must, no naked flames please.

I've pop back in the morning to share a few more of the samples I've made for the Candy Box Crafts shows on Hochanda freeview 39 and also on-line at 11am and 5pm Wednesday 18th May.

Happy Crafting, Elizabeth x

A Mermaids Tail Kaisercraft Album for Jones Crafts

I've been having a play with one of the Kaisercraft Round 3 1/2" Albums. They are a great size to play with, whether it be for a mini brag book or for themed album. I chose to use one of this months new releases from Kaisercraft called A Mermaids Tail. The papers are such beautiful shades of lilacs, pinks and blues.

The Geo Quarters stencil has a fabulous "scales" section, just perfect for a mermaid tail, used here with clear paste and glitter.

There are some fabulous word strips along the bottom of the papers, so be careful not to chop them in half, I cut mine off before I start working with the papers, then they are safe.

I also used the Nautical Die and Stamp set elements as they match in perfectly with the papers.

And of course lots of sequin bubbles!

I used texture past through the Geo Quarter stencil on the outer covers, gave it a couple of coats of gesso and painted it with the new Kingfisher Blue Metallic paint from IndigoBlu.

There are also a few floral papers mixed in along with the seaside theme.

And I just love this saying............

See you soon, Elizabeth x

Kaisercrafts Coastal Escape Collection

I love the Coastal Escape Collection from Kaisercraft, and made this 8" square canvas out of some of the left-overs from the Stitches samples, I waste nothing!!!

The background started with lots of die cut pieces glued into place and a coat of gesso added over the top.

When that had dried I added Glass Bead Gel and spritzed with a mix of Perfect Pearls and Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, before building up they layers of distressed papers.

The frames are from the £1 stall at the craft shows and the birds and heart I made using one of the Mod Podge Molds. The square frame fitted the sentiment from the Coastal Escapes 6 1/2" paper pad perfectly.

To finish off I added Nuvo drops and of course I have to have sequins, I am an addict lol.
