We don't need an excuse for a party or get together, but what we do need are cute, fun and easy to create invitations. I designed these Baby Shower Invites using Eileen Hull's Photo and Storage Die as the main body, along with a very simple trick to make your invite pop right up out of the box!
Die cut the photo box and glue together, as you see I use clothes pegs to hold mine while the wet glue dries. I also cut a piece of mat board to 3 1/2" x 5" to become the base for the insert.
I used up scraps of this cute paper from Kaisercraft Little Ones Collection to decorate the outside. I needed to do a little paper piecing, but the joins would get covered as it was decorated, so it wasn't a problem.
I chose a piece of patterned paper, and embellishments from the pack of co-ordinating Collectables ready to decorate the front of the box.
I flipped the box over and found the top centre of the box, I used my glass mat to get a rough idea where that was, before adding strong double sided tape to the box, ready to attach a piece of grey satin ribbon, shiny side up onto. The ribbon was approx 14" long.
I added one of the super cute tags from the Collectables to hide the ribbon, so that the Baby Owl was peeping over the front of the box.
And found a square sentiment to add over the top of the blank tag, for a little extra decoration.
I flipped the box the right way up again, and decorated the front side.
And also the insert for the invitation to be written on. These little critters are so cute. I found two circle sentiments from the pack.
Then bringing the ribbon forward across the top of the box, I slid the invitation down, using it to take the ribbon down inside the box, making sure I didn't loose the end that was lose.
Trim the end of the ribbon to the desired length, and add one of the circle sentiments to each side, to create a tag to use as a pull.
There you have it, a fun and easy way of creating a pop up invitation for any event.
