Gossamer Silk Scarf

I had a great day out on Friday, Wanda and I booked ourselves in for a day learning to make a gossamer silk scarf at Stitch It in Llandudno. Ive got to say that as a crafting day out, it was one of the cleanest I've done lol. We started off by learning about all of the different types of silk, and silk waste that were available, and how they would look in a finished item. Then the fun began choosing what colour scheme we would use. I for once worked outside of my comfort zone and chose pink!!!! Not a snippet of blue anywhere in sight!! After a full day of tweaking, adding more bits and re arranging fibres, pre felting and finally felting, the scarfs were finished. Not sure how well they would sell at the Country Market, but if I don't try I won't know, and they can always be used as Christmas pressies lol. Will make a blue one next.............

Lurverly Elizabeth. Please, what is pre-felting? Is it a particular technique or is it the colouring etc you did before felting?

Elizabeth, your scarf is so gorgeous. Love the color. Interesting that you had a Mitzi too. My mother's nickname was Mitzie. Only a few people called her that. I think my relatives thought badly of me for naming my dog Mitzi. But she was such a love that I never felt I was being disrespectful to my mother.

It looks just as good here as it does in real life! Mist get mine posted now. I'm already thinking about the next one. Think I need some more of the silk tops to go with some of the other wools I already have.
