A Sprinkle of Imagination 12 Blogs of Christmas

I was very excited to be asked to take part in this years blog hop over at A Sprinkle of Imagination
They have some fabulous products in their shop including these gorgeous Relics and Artifacts from Prima, which I love!
I started my canvas by creating a textured background using mesh ribbon and smooth texture paste, once that was dry I gave it a coat of gesso and let that dry before stamping the Prima Doily with Versamark and embossing with clear powder. Then I added layers of inks and Perfect Pearls over the top of the whole canvas.  I spritzed the wings with a selection of inks and left them to dry before adding Sheffield Steel Megaflakes to highlight the feathers, and gluing the heart and wins to the canvas. Once that was dry I added pearls and gems for some sparkle, and spritzed again over the top with Perfect Pearls.
I've had the metal letters for ages and I love the look of the bare metal against the cool blues, so finally they have a home.
So there you have it, my new canvas which is actually on my workroom wall to remind me to spread my wings and fly a little!!

You can check out A Sprinkle of Imagination's great shop HERE

Have a Merry Christmas,

Craft Stampers Take It Make It Challenge December - Take a Technique

A little more festive inspiration for our December challenge over at Craft Stamper Blog where we would like you to share your frosty, icy or festive creations with us for a chance of winning a fabulous prize of £25 from Polkadoodles.
I have painted my Triptych with black GeeSsoGood and then stamped over the top with the large Vintage Flourish from IndigoBlu using the very gorgeous Aladdin Cottage Garden Metallic paint. Once that was dry I then stamped over again but this time using FlitterGlu and Chariot of Fire Megaflakes.
The Madonna and Child is one of the new Christmas stamps brought out in 2015 and looks stunning using the flakes. As you burnish the flake the texture of the wood shows through, adding another dimension to the project.

Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge December - Take a Technique

Here we are with the launch of our December challenge over at the Craft Stamper Blog our theme this time around is to "Take a Technique" and make your project icy, wintry or Christmasy (I know it's not a real word)!!
We have been sponsored this time by Polkadoodles who have very kindly put up a prize of £25 to spend on their goodies.
The technique I've chosen to use is one of my favourites, Megaflakes and FlitterGlu. I love the effect of gilding it adds something magical to a project, for very little extra cost.

I've used the Design Alphabet stamps, Christmas Compendium papers and the very gorgeous Morris Dance Megaflakes, all from IndigoBlu.

And of course Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without bells on!!!

Check out the challenge terms and conditions on the blog page, and make a little something to enter, using stamping of course. Along with the great Polkadoodles prize another lucky winner will have their chance to be featured in the Craft Stamper magazine itself, how cool is that!!

HSNW

I was very proud to be asked to take a class for the HSNW Club over on the Wirral. As some of you know these are the group that work uber hard put on the amazing Stamping Festival at Port Sunlight twice a year.
29 Ladies used a mixture of IndigoBlu Stamps along with some gorgeous Kaisercraft flowers to create a Butterfly canvas, and also a couple of co-ordinating cards, all with fabulous results.

Sadly guess who forgot to take any photo's before everyone left for the evening with their gorgeous projects :(  which is such as shame as they were all amazing and so very different from each other.
Thank you again Ladies for making me feel so very welcome and having a relaxing day of craft.

My poor neglected blog and a re-vamp!

I have been such a bad blogger over the last couple of months, but am now determined to make amends and catch up with my friends in blogland.  I've made a huge start in my workroom and have now turned the whole room round, to make better use of the space. I am now trying to get everything back in and sorted out into storage boxes.

The box on top is a Tea Box bought from one of the cheaper shops and is perfect for all those little bits and bobs we all collect on our desks. The box with the drawer in is one I decorated a couple of years ago and was in need of a re-vamp.
I covered both in IndigoBlu's Fontastic Ephemera Mixed Media Cardstack, stencilled smooth texture paste through their new Texture Stencil and painted over the top of everything with lots of watered down GeeSsoGood, and I love the finished effect, very shabby chic!

I'll share some more pictures as my room progresses, that way I have to finish it!!!!!

Dragons Dream TIO #201 - Four!

It's Julie Ann's turn to take the lead over at the Dragons Dream TIO, and she has chosen the number four to be used on your tags.

I decided to use a dictionary page with the word on for this round, unfortunately the writing was way to small to read, so out came the number four stamp from IndigoBlu's Design Numbers set! I can see that one lol.

I used Slap It On Matt Medium to adhere the page to my tag, and gave it a top coat to seal it before using a watered down layer of GeeSoGood over the top. Once that was dried I stamped out the butterfly from the Discover Your Passion stamp set and coloured it in using Lyra Polycolour pencils. I highlighted the word "four" with lines, then added the number stamp using Jet Black Archival ink. To finish off I added shade around everything using a pale lilac pencil to make the butterflies float above the page.

Hope you can join in with us this time around, happy crafting.

Dragons Dream TIO #200 - No 9

I can't believe that we have reached our 200th challenge over at the TIO, it doesn't seem that long ago that Frankie decided to start the challenge and I proudly joined as a team member.
You can catch up with Frankie on the Jewellery Maker channel where she is a guest designer, making her fabulous Steampunk creations.

So this time around the fabulous Gabrielle has chosen the number 9 which I struggled with, then I remembered a stitch in time.........saves nine - or at least I hope that's how it goes :)

So with Kaisercraft papers and stamps, distress inks and IndigoBlu's GeeSoGood my tag came together.

So hop over to the Dragons Dream TIO blog via the link on my sidebar and join in!

Craft Stamper Magazine's Take It Make It Challenge - Take a Stamp!

The new challenge over at the Craft Stamper Blog is well underway and we have some amazing entries already.

I've re-discovered my Art Journal, which I started a couple of years ago, there are still plenty of empty pages (shame on me, although I am using other journals) so it's time to get creating again, this time around with an assortment of IndigoBlu stamps.

I've used the Lotus flower and stamps from the Grand TourII sheet, and Dutch Doobadoo stencil along with several shades of Distress Inks, and of course a layer of GeeSoGood.

I doodled around the edge of the page with a Micron pen and created shading around the flowers with a soft pencil.

My mission for today is to complete the opposite page :)

Art Journal Re-Vamp

I decided to give my Art Journal a re-vamp, when I did the cover originally it was black with metallic blue and silver, and very dark.
So after a coat of GeeSoGood Gesso and adding lots of elements that were left over from a Finnabair workshop I did at IndigoBlu earlier this year, along with a few flowers and buttons from my stash. I decided this time around I wanted a pastel colours for my journal.
I used several layers of IndigoBlu's Cottage Garden paints in the gorgeous Grandma's Teacup and Townhouse Teal shades, diluted with water and spritzed onto the cover. Then after drying spritzed again with the gorgeous Snow White metallic paint, for a pearl sheen along the right hand side.
To finish off I applied a little Vodka Martini metallic paint using a dry brush to the edges of some of the embellishments, so when the light catches them they have a beautiful metallic lustre.

So there's my re-vamped cover and I promise to fill the rest of the pages and share them :)

Frosted Designs September Challenge - Back to School

Our challenge this month over at the Frosted Designs blog is "Back to School" It's been a long time since I've had to sort out new books and uniforms, but I remember all those last minute trips for bit's that we had forgotten, great fun!

I've used a scrap piece of paper for my backgound and I can't remember where it is from, sorry, it was the script that drew me to it, along with the lovely distressed colours.

This is one of the Gorjuss Girl stamps and she looks like she is al ready for school with that stack of books! I coloured her with ProMarkers, fussy cut her out and added her with foam pads to make her stand out from the background.

These flowers have been in my stash forever! I think they were from Lakeland Plastic back when they used to have a craft section.

So there you have it "Back to School" is our theme for the whole month, so why not pop over via the link and join in, you could even win a fabulous prize!!

Dragons Dream TIO #199 - Number "3"

Catherine has chosen the number "3" for our new challenge over at The Dragons Dream TIO this time, how you use it is up to you, as long as you have at least one real stamp on tag.
I've used some left over bits from Kaisercrafts "On Stage" collection 6 1/2" paper pad, along with some Stampers Anonymous stamps.
A spattering of white GeeSoGood, a few sequins and a few blobs of brass perfect pearls finish it off.

Hop over via the ink on my sidebar and check out what the rest of the fabulous team have created, and join in!

Dragons Dream TIO - No2

This time around over at the Dragons Dream TIO Blog Silvia has chosen the number "2" so we would like to see that incorporated onto you tag somewhere with as always at least one real stamp.

I love this die from spellbinders and couldn't get the song "Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do" out of my head lol, as you know I have a dog named Daisy.

I stamped the background of the tag in Salty Ocean Distress Ink with the Harlequin background stamp from IndigoBlu. Then brushed over a layer of white GeeSoGood to tone the colour down a little. I have to confess that that was the only stamp I used on my tag this time, the rest is made up from dies, flowers and dimensional drops.

Hope you get time to join in our little challenge, just click on the link on the sidebar to take you there.
