Eileen's new Sunflower Die is the perfect addition to an already fantastic collection of Dies.
It's perfect for this time of year to bring in a blast of colour to your decor, when all plants in the garden are dying back and the nights are drawing in. The sun no longer shines through my kitchen window, and it's miserable!
I used Sizzix Card Stock as I love the texture and the colours are just gorgeous.
I recycled a previously decorated 25cm wreath. I started by stripping off the old faded decorations. I wasn't too bothered about any pieces that were damaged, as they would be covered up with the new paper.
I cut out a selection of Sunflowers in various shades of Orange, Yellows and Browns and of course some Green Leaves.
I found some sunny Yellow floral paper that had been in my stash for way too many years (not the only one guilty of that .............am I?).
I cut the paper into strips roughly about 1 1/2" wide and wrapped them around the wreath form, gluing them at the back. The strips are at a slight angle, so as they fill the wreath they create a slight stepped effect rather than trying to get them perfectly flat.
Keep on wrapping the paper until the wreath is totally covered.
Now it's time to play with all thos die cuts and build your Sunflowers....
I added a piece of Burlap/Hessian to create a loop to hang the wreath from, and added my Sunflowers, arranging the leaves in between.
Such an easy upcycle, but it brings a lovely bright splash of colour into my now shaded, dark Autumn kitchen.
Hope you have a go, don't forget to share your projects with us in the Eileen Hull Fan Group on Facebook, the link is below.
Happy Crafting,
