This was such an easy and fun journal to create using Eileen's Card Caddy Die as the base for the journal.
I stencilled texture paste though the lattice stencil and once it was dry a painted the entire cover with white gesso. Once dry I added colour using a couple of Inktense Blocks by lightly rubbing over the texture paste in different directions, spritzing with water and letting dry before repeating that process until the colour built up.
I die cut the flowers and leaves from a light weight water colour card, then added colour from the same two Inktense Blocks.
Once they were completely dry I then doodled over the top of the flowers and leaves with a Black Micron pen.
I added Gold Pen around all of the edges of the journal, the book plate and lightly across the raised texture of the latticework.
I found a die cut Book Plate left over from another project which was perfect for the cover of the journal.
I chose to add more flowers to the spine of the journal as thats the part you see the most of once it's on a shelf.
The inside covers are lined with a piece of watercolour paper that I used to clean my stencils on, I added a couple of leaves over the tops with ink, this gives a look of hand made paper. The block inside the journal is hand stitched 120gsm paper which is great for holding ink and doodling on.
