More Butterflies

We have been having small exhibitions at our Country Market of peoples work, other than the things they bring to sell. It's been a great success and we've had some beautiful items on display, dolls houses, quilts and antique sewing equipment to name just a few. I was reminded on Friday that I am on the list to display my work next Friday 8th, yikes! so I've spent today finishing off some projects that have been lurching around my workroom, some for quite a long time and others like the butterflies, only for a couple of weeks or so.
I have no idea what I am going to take with me, so hence the "get on with it" day lol, then I have a choice of old and new projects. I'm quite please with the butterflies, although I think they would look better if the were swirling a little more, rather than in a straight line, not pulling them off now though lol. Elizabeth x

Dragons Dream TIO #134 Dress to Impress

Wow this caught me out, where have the last two weeks gone? Trace has set the challenge this time over at Dragons Dream TIO with "Dress to Impress" she would like to see dress forms, embossing and some bling on your tags, with of course at least one real stamp!
I got so carried away die cutting, embossing and playing with ink, that I completely forgot about the stamp lol, thank goodness I realised just as I was about the take the photo lol.
Hope you visit the Dragons Dream TIO blog see what my team mates have been up to and join in with this times challenge. The link is on my sidebar. Elizabeth xxx

The return of the mojo

OK so after a total lack of wanting to make anything over the last couple of weeks, I'm happy to say that I'm back! My workroom is tidy to the point of showroom condition lol (well for me anyway) and my head is buzzing with loads of new idea's, so watch out!
After trolling round Pinterest looking for mojo, I kept running into butterfly covered canvas's, the more I saw the more I wanted to make one. This picture is a card made with the same principle and a lot of help from a Martha Stewart punch. Very clean for me but there will be lots of different versions to follow! Elizabeth x

Dragons Dream TIO #133 "While Dragons Dream"

Here we are at Dragons Dream with our first challenge of 2013, and in honour of our Dragon, Frankie, our challenge this time is "While Dragons Dream". We would love to see some mythical creatures, a night sky,  a full moon and at least one real stamp on your tag.
I've had a bit of a break over the last few weeks, so it's great to get back in my very tidy workroom (not for long) and get my hands inky again!
I've used a mixture of different shades of blue distress inks for my background, with a punched out mask for the moon. My Lavinia dragon is flying across a sky of iridescent stars, and away to a land of dreams!
We hope you enjoy our challenge this time, to join in just click on the link on my sidebar.
My resolutions this year, to always carry my mug of hot coffee by the handle, and not to let any opportunities pass me by!! What are yours ?
Happy New Year

Dragons Dream #131 Merry Christmas

Wow I cannot believe this is our last TIO challenge before Christmas, this year has gone by so quickly. This time around we have a Christmas themed challenge, with no recipe to follow, the only stipulation, as always is that you use at least one real stamp on your tags and have fun!
I am back in vintage mode again and loving this Kandi Core card form Kanban, it looks like old leather when it's distressed and sanded.
My cheeky little Robin had to make an appearance again, this time I've cut him out and layered him up along with some foliage, also cut from the Kandi Core. He's one of many to have been watercoloured with Distress Inks for a Vintage feel, the others are lined up ready for my own Christmas Cards. The HOTP sentiment is embossed using Wow Pearl Gold Sparkle, love their powders!
We hope you join in with our festive challenge this time, just click on the link on my sidebar, and don't forget, at least one real stamp must be used on your tag.
Merry Christmas Elizabeth xxx

Sunday Stampers #234 Labelled With Love

Hels song choice this week is Labelled With Love. So the theme this week is "Labels", well I can't resist a tag challenge, can I?
My tag has been inked up with various blue distress inks, love the salty ocean one, it's so bright. All the stamps I've used are from the Snowflake Decoupage set from Imagination Crafts. The smaller snowflakes were stamped out in the various sizes, using salty ocean.

The big snowflakes were stamped out and embossed with wow silver bells, gorgeous sparkly powder, water coloured with distress inks, and decoupaged on to the tag.
Then I decided the sentiment needed a mini tag of it's own!
Thanks for stopping by, am off up the Conwy Valley now for my work's Christmas lunch, my third Christmas dinner so far lol. Elizabeth xxx
