Dragons Dream TIO #117 To Dye For!

This time over at Dragons Dream TIO Sue has chosen the ingredients of spray inks, die cuts and embossing of any sort.
I bought a couple of the Radiant Rains whilst I was at Port Sunlight earlier this month, they are gorgeous. The colours are so rich and intense, and just perfect for an inky background. I chose one of Carolines die cut Seahorses and also used the Radiant Rains on him as well. The seaweed is one of Lavinia's stamps and the sparkly sandy patch is a mixture of mica fragments, crushed glass glitter and embossing powder, all heated together, very sparkly in real life but doesn't show up too well on here.

So there we are, spray inks/dyes, die cuts, embossing and as always at least one real stamp. Pop over via the link on my sidebar to join in with the challenge. Elizabeth x

2nd Place - yippee!

Wow got 2nd place with my orginal flower. They had changed the rules when we got there last night, and we could only enter one corsage, so decided to stick with the first one I made. The very gorgeous Georgina (ex-model and face of the nineties Elle/Vougue) did the judging and chose a felted flower for 1st, and mine for second yippee. So we now have a cup in Colwyn Bay, not had one for donkeys years apparently, so I am happy (and at least I made my own felt, ahem....... George!!).Off to work now in a good mood, wonder how long that will last lol. Have a good day Elizabeth xxx

Corsages

Can't remember the last time I had a full day off in the week, it's been ages! Have done a little "speed cleaning",a lot of tidying up and sewn the backs on to the felted flowers at long last. This one s my "Bagpuss" flower, due to the stripes, it's so much bigger than the others that I made, but I do quite like it.

Ups where did that butterfly come from lol.
This one I've done for a bit of fun using the tattered floral and leaves die. It's small and not quite so bright in real life as on the screen, but I love the texture.
So these are the three flowers representing Colwyn Bay's WI this evening, fingers crossed please, will let you know how I got on tomorrow. Elizabeth xxx

Dragons Dream TIO #116 A Symphony of Flowers

This time over at Dragons Dream TIO Helen is asking us to dream up "A Symphony of Flowers" on our tags, using the ingredients of flowers, foliage, buttons and maybe a butterfly or two!
I've been using these stamps quite a lot lately for the cards I sell at the Country Market, so they were sat on my desk, ready and waiting. I stamped them out on to some K&Co paper, cut them out, shaped and layered them, before adding a button from my stash to create a centre. The foliage was left over from a project last week, and the butterfly was cut from a Pink Frog die, which I love as they are so delicate. Hope you pop over to join in the dream this time, just click on the link on my sidebar, and please remember to use at least one real stamp on your tag. Elizabeth x

Blooms!!!

I love the big old fashioned roses, and also the huge floppy peonies, and have been having a go at trying to re-create them in felt.
I've made mine from five layers of  marino wool in different shades and glitzy fibres, felted together. So relaxing to do!!  I'm quite pleased with the effect, and it is a lot bigger than the original flowers I made which gives me more scope to decorate it, as I have done with a few crystals.

Off to make my own bouquet now lol.  Elizabeth xxx

Sunshine on a Rainy Day!

Thought I'd share a couple of photo's from weekend which I managed to snap in between the showers!
This is the view from the jetty at Rhos, looking back across the beach at Colwyn Bay, dripping toffee fudge ice-cream in hand!
A short walk towards Llandudno takes you to the smallest Chapel in Wales, St Tudno's, which holds regular services to this day.
A short walk back towards Colwyn Bay and you will reach the Rhos Ffynach, well it would be rude not to have lunch and a cheeky glass of vino!

Look at the colour of that sky! It was a lovely walk down there, but have to confess to getting a taxi back up the hill lol, well not long since I finished physio, my excuse anyway.  Hate having my picture taken, but gave in. xxx

PDCC #130

Yippee it's raining, which means a little more indoor playtime for me lol. It's yonks since I've made anything for the Play Date Cafe Challenge, and it's on of my favourite places to visit. So whilst my flowery stamps are still on the table, I thought I'd use the other large flower from the set. I stamped the image on to the card with Stazon, and then also on to some pink spotty paper. Again I cut the flowers out, shaped them, and layered them up, and added card candy for the centre. The small flower and the leaf were coloured in using pro markers.
The laugh stamp is an old one from PSX, don't think they are around anymore, not sure though.  Check out the link on my sidebar to take you to this great challenge, there are always gorgeous cards to oggle!! Elizabeth x
