Frosted Designs Challenge - Metallic

Our challenge over at Frosted Designs this time is "Metallic", so with this in mind what could be better than a pocket watch and chain.

I've used Kaisercraft papers that were a free gift in a magazine last year, and coloured the gorgeous Sherri Baldy image in using Promarkers.

As always we have a fabulous prize up for grabs, so why not click on the logo on my sidebar to take you to the challenge blog, and join in.

Craft Stampers Take It Make It Challenge for June - Bleach Blocking!!

Our new Take It Make It Challenge over at the Craft Stamper Magazine Blog starts this morning. If you've already had your magazine by subscription you will have had a sneaky peek at the "bleach blocking" technique, if not then the magazine is available from today in all good craft shops and WH Smiths.
I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and make something bright (think I managed that one lol.) So inked up a background of Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks, then taking the name literally, got the cleaning spray out! This does work with water, but I wanted a more dramatic look, for my background.
Sprayed the bleach cleaner on to a plate and used a couple of different sized make-up sponges to create the blocks. The ink disappeared before my eyes lol, but how cool is that background, I didn't want to cover it up!
In the end I decided to use the "Uptown Girl " stamp from Stampingbella, coloured with Promarkers and cut out, so most of the background could still be seen.
I had great fun (as you probably guessed) with this technique and I'm sure you will too, please remember to stamp on your project and also to have a direct link back to the project on your blogs, so the DT can check out your creations.
As always we have a fabulous prize up for grabs and the winner will have their card printed in a future copy of the Craft Stamper Magazine.
Good luck and I'll see you over at the blog!

Well I tidied up a bit.......................

After a long morning in work I decided that I would make a start on my workroom (yet again) and this time would not allow myself to be distracted by things I'd forgotten about. Well I sort of lasted about an hour before finding the MDF hearts that I'd painted up a couple of weeks back, and as I already had the paste and stencil out on my desk................................... I just couldn't help myself, I am an addict lol.
Might price this one up and take it to the country market in the morning. xxx

Sunday Stamper #260 I Dreamed a Dream

Some how I've managed a totally chilled out afternoon in my workroom. I drowned out the workmen outside with a mix of El Divo, Enrique and of course Bon Jovi, then got inky!
Thought I'd do a canvas for a change and as I need some as samples for a class later this year,  am getting prepared, not playing lol.
The Bunting and Dream letters were a free printable download I found on Pinterest, you can find them on my craft board if you want to pin them.
I used the very gorgeous Honeysuckle stencil from Imagination Crafts with paste, then painted the whole canvas white, before tinting the flowers and leaves with Promarkers. I've used a mixture of no-name stamps (sorry they are very old and I can't remember where they were from :) and some Kaisercraft stamps. Then wiped white paint over the top of the black ink to tone it down a bit. I've inked around all the edges with broken china Distress ink and then decided to add a little Sparkle Medium over the top, good job it washes off the fingers!
I have a whole day off tomorrow, now what shall I do, lol.

Spring in to Fashion at Crafty Individuals

In real life this is pale pink and white, sadly on film it looks very white. This is one of my favourite Crafty Individual stamps and is used on a regular basis!
I've used a mixture of distress inks and promarkers, along with crealies and cheery lyn dies. Hope I'm not too late to enter. Elizabeth x

Dragons Dream TIO #127 I can resist anything but temptation!

This time over at Dragons Dream TIO Sue has chosen the theme "I can resist anything but temptation" a quotation by Oscar Wilde. The ingredients are a resist technique of some kind, the colour red and a temptation!!!!
Sorry but my very Northern humour has kicked in again and I couldn't resist using this little fella from Penny Black. I love nice underwear, there, my secret is out lol, I may be a complete scruff on the outside, but underneath I am a total girlie at heart!
The flowers at the bottom of the tag were stamped and embossed with black powder, which acted as a resist to the barn door ink. Pop over to the Dragons Dream blog via the link on my sidebar to check out what my fab team mates have created, and join in with our challenge. Just don't forget the ingredients plus one real stamp.  Elizabeth xxx

PDCC #130

Yippee it's raining, which means a little more indoor playtime for me lol. It's yonks since I've made anything for the Play Date Cafe Challenge, and it's on of my favourite places to visit. So whilst my flowery stamps are still on the table, I thought I'd use the other large flower from the set. I stamped the image on to the card with Stazon, and then also on to some pink spotty paper. Again I cut the flowers out, shaped them, and layered them up, and added card candy for the centre. The small flower and the leaf were coloured in using pro markers.
The laugh stamp is an old one from PSX, don't think they are around anymore, not sure though.  Check out the link on my sidebar to take you to this great challenge, there are always gorgeous cards to oggle!! Elizabeth x

Rainbow Lady's Challenge #195 Red, Brown and Cream

This week over at Rainbow Lady's Challenge the theme is Red, Brown and Cream. I found this image over at the Free Vintage Digital Stamps site (see the logo on my sidebar) whilst I was hunting for"Alice" images, and just couldn't resist it! I mean it was just shouting out for this challenge lol. I used promarkers to colour the birds, and then inked around the edge with vintage photo distress ink, before matting on to some gorgeous rusty red Kanban card and attaching to a cream cardbase, again inked around the edge with vintage photo distress ink. We would love you to share your creations with us this week, using Red, Brown and Cream, just click on the link on my sidebar to join in. Elizabeth x

TIO #111 Alice in Wonderland

Wow how quicky have these last two weeks gone? Over at Dragons Dream TIO our theme this time is Alice in Wonderland, chosen by AJ.
I had intended to go down to West Shore in Llandudno and photograph the statue of the White Rabbit to share with you, sadly I've not had chance.  I didn't have any stamps at all for this theme, thank goodness for Pamela over at Free Vintage Digital Stamps (click the logo on my sidebar) where I found this fab image! I coloured Alice and animals, using promarkers, then added black soot distress ink to create some mood. The text stamp is from PSX, and all those little playing cards are from one of Joanna Sheenes cd's, inked around the edge to age them. I hope you enjoy our challenge this time, just click on the Dragons Dream logo on my sidebar to pop over and join in, just please remember to use at least one real stamp! This challenge will  run for two weeks. Elizabeth x

Another one

Am back in cute mode again as well lol, think I'm trying to keep my mind off physio in the morning lol.  xxx

Flutterbies

Though I'd share a few of the new cards I've made for the Market, as I haven't done for a while. The butterfly stamp is one of my new ones from Imagination Crafts. I thought I'd have a play with pastel colours for a change with my promarkers, as I always seem to do loud bright stuff lol. Will add a few more over the next few days. xx

This last choice of film has been chosen by Frankie, the head Dragon herself so please join in and remember to use at least one real stamp!
My offering this week is of course the very dapper "Jasper" from Kanban.  He was stamped out on to white card stock, and coloured in using promarkers, cut out and added on to a piece of black Kanban card which had been stamped with the cogs and clocks from the "Jasper" set and then embossed with brass sparkle Wow powder. The corners were cut out using a Marianne die from scrap card. Please pop over to join in this the last challenge of 2011, just click on the logo on my sidebar for a direct link. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Elizabeth xxx

This week over at Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog we are being sponsored by Caroline, who has put some gorgeous Christmas digi images up for grabs, so thinking caps on guys!
This isn't what I had in mind for this challenge at all. I'd planned on buying the Witch, and the Cat stamp from Lavinia Stamps when I was at Port Sunlight, but alas I was distracted, and lost my train of thought!!!! LOL.  The stamps are Graphicus and coloured in with a mixture of Promarkers and distress inks, then mounted on to some HOTP backing papers which are yonks old. Hope you enjoy this weeks challenge, just click on the link on my sidebar to join in. Elizabeth xxx

Rainbow Lady's Challenge #161 A Stitch in Time

This week over at Rainbow lady's Challenge blog the theme is "A Stitch in Time" as always we have a fab sponsor and some great candy up for grabs!!!
My backing paper has been printed out from an Artylicious cd rom, have to admit I can't remember which one lol. I decided use the BP in stripes rather than one whole piece, and overstamped with a HOTP stitcing stamp to make it look like the paper strips had been sewn on. I ran a piece of pink card through the swiss dots embossing folder, and trimmed the edge with a wavey trimmer blade. The ChiChi Memories image has been coloured in using promarkers and some art institute glitter added for sparkle!! The card was then finished off with a few prima flowers with gems added! Hope you join in the challenge this week, just click on the link on my sidebar to take you there. Happy Crafting Elizabeth x

TIO #81 Timepieces

This week Frankie is leading the TIO Challenge, dreaming of Timepieces. I decided to Christen the new stamp plate I got when I re-newed my Craft Stamper subscription, at Port Sunlight. She is a curvey girl stood infront of a pocket watch, by Artistic Stamper. I'd seen the stamp before, so I was delighted when I realised it was the freebie at the show!! I inked my tag in a mixture of milled lavender, dusty concorde, bundled sage and black soot distress inks. I stamped the lady out in black soot, then made sure the tag was dry enough to add colour on to with promarkers, and a white chalk pencil (fab bit of kit!). I then over stamped some Tim Holtz clocks around the edge in dusty concorde and bundled sage, to create a border. To finish off I added glossy accents to the clock face, and distress stickles in victorian velvet, and crushed olive. Hope you like the tag and come over to join in the challenge at DragonsDream, just click the logo on the sidebar. Elizabeth x

Play Date Cafe Challenge 82

After a very long and busy week, it's time to sit chill, and catch up with blogland (If it's still working LOL). How could I resist this weeks challenge at the Play Date Cafe with such gorgeous colours!! So with a pile a fab new stamps to mount after last weeks Happy Stampers Show at Port Sunlight, I made a start with the Crafty Individuals stamps. The Chickens are stamped out in Rich Cocoa Memento ink, and coloured using Promarkers. The backing paper is an old one of K&Co's,  distressed around the edge with brushed corduroy, and the sentiment is from an Easter set LOL. Off to Port Sunlight again in the morning for Sheena's Paint Fusion class, should be fun, and very messy!! Have a great weekend Elizabeth x

Rainbow lady's Challenge 153 - With A Flourish!

Sorry for being AWOL last week, think my mojo left me for a while, but am ok now, I think LOL. This week over at Rainbow Lady's Challenge we are sponsored by Steph, who yet again has provided some fantastic blog candy, up for grabs so thinking caps on gang!
The Wedding cards fly off the stall on a Friday morning, so have taken the opportunity to do a little re-stocking.
My flourishes are cut out from a cuttlebug die, with extra flowers and gems added, for some sparkle! The dress stamp is by Inkadinkadoo, I just think it is so elegant. It was coloured in using Promarkers, and then matted on to matching card , and the corners were cut out using one of Nellies dies.

TIO #78 Texture!

This week over at Dragons Dream we are dreaming in "Texture" lead by the very creative Wanda. I decided that I needed a good dose of messy crafting this week after all of the pastel stuff I've been playing with over tha last few weeks, LOL. So my dream began with stencil paste through the mini harlequin Crafters Workshop template. I added some black glitter whilst the paste was still just wet enough to hold it, then once dry I inked around the tag with black soot distress ink. I love this Tango stamp by Blue Moon, it was stamped out in memento and then coloured in with a selection of promarkers, then inked around with black soot to distress the edges. To add yet more texture, I added a selection of beads around the bottom for a little extra drama. Hope you come over and dream with us this week, just click on the Dragons Dream logo on the sidebar for a link to the challenge. Elizabeth xxx
