Craft Stamper Magazine April 2019 Challenge

It's a new month and the start of a new challenge over at The Craft Stamper Magazine Blog

Frilly and Funkie By the Sea

As you know I love anything Seaside related, so when I saw this challenge over at Frilly and Funkie I just couldn't resist joining in.

I started the canvas back in June but was never quite happy with it, even though it's full of lot's of lovely papers and embellishments, it just wasn't right.

I'd bought a magazine from Practical Publishing that came with papers, dies, stamps etc so my initial plan was to use these to make a card using the bathing belle, which I did. Then came the lightbulb moment!!!!!!!

How fab would that be as the focal point on my "never quite finished" canvas........job done another UFO completed, and a new canvas destined for my seaside themed sun room.

Let The Words do the Talking over at Frilly and Funkie

This is my entry for the current challenge over at Frilly and Funkie  where the theme is "Let the words do the talking"
I've used a mixture of Prima and Kaisercraft papers as they were a perfect match for each other.

I love the sentiments that Kaisercraft use in their collections they always get them just right. The butterfly was cut out from a left over scrap page and the flowers are from my stash. The clock was in the June box from Craft Box UK.

Art Journal Re-Vamp

 I decided to give my Art Journal a re-vamp, when I did the cover originally it was black with metallic blue and silver, and very dark.
So after a coat of GeeSoGood Gesso and adding lots of elements that were left over from a Finnabair workshop I did at IndigoBlu earlier this year, along with a few flowers and buttons from my stash. I decided this time around I wanted a pastel colours for my journal.

  I used several layers of IndigoBlu's Cottage Garden paints in the gorgeous Grandma's Teacup and Townhouse Teal shades, diluted with water and spritzed onto the cover. Then after drying spritzed again with the gorgeous Snow White metallic paint, for a pearl sheen along the right hand side.

To finish off I applied a little Vodka Martini metallic paint using a dry brush to the edges of some of the embellishments, so when the light catches them they have a beautiful metallic lustre.

So there's my re-vamped cover and I promise to fill the rest of the pages and share them :)

Craft Stampers Take It Make It Challenge 'Take A Technique' : Theme: Stencilling

 A little reminder of our challenge over at the Craft Stamper Magazine Blog where we want to see your stencilling projects. This time I decided to use Distress Inks along with one of my favourite Prima stencils.

 I used a mixture of Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold and Mustard Seed inks applied with Inkylicious brushes. Then added flowers and birds from IndigoBlu's Nature 1 stamp set in Archival ink, love the contrast of colours against black ink.

TIO #94 Bed of Roses - Bon Jovi & Metal

One of my most loved songs of all time has to be "Bed of Roses" by Bon Jovi, it's such a beautiful love song, and I'm a soppy old Hector at heart!
Inspired by Frankie's metal flowers I decided to have a go at making some of my own, the perfect match for my song choice. The base stamp of a rose is a sale bargain from The Stampman, coloured in with promarkers. I then inked up the tag in a mixture of peeled paint, shabby shutters and black soot distress inks. The sentiment is from PSX and stamped out in black soot. My roses are made from the Tattered Flower die, and coloured using red pepper alcohol ink. The prima leaves were left over from another project. Rainbow Lady's Challenge #161 A Stitch in Time

This week over at Rainbow lady's Challenge blog the theme is "A Stitch in Time" as always we have a fab sponsor and some great candy up for grabs!!!
My backing paper has been printed out from an Artylicious cd rom, have to admit I can't remember which one lol. I decided use the BP in stripes rather than one whole piece, and overstamped with a HOTP stitcing stamp to make it look like the paper strips had been sewn on. I ran a piece of pink card through the swiss dots embossing folder, and trimmed the edge with a wavey trimmer blade. The ChiChi Memories image has been coloured in using promarkers and some art institute glitter added for sparkle!! The card was then finished off with a few prima flowers with gems added!
