WOW Embossing Powders Metal Challenge

The April challenge over at WOW is Metal, I love their powders, I just hope I'm not too late to enter.
I started with an old wooden picture frame which was .50p from a charity shop.
Gave it a good clean and lightly sanded it back. I then embossed a sheet of craft metal though the E-bosser and painted over it with Martha Stewart acrylic paint, wiping some of it off with a baby wipe before it dried completely.
I then cut the metal into strips to fit the frame, and attached them with strong red tape. I left the corners square on this one, due to the pattern.
I then finished off the frame by adding a layer of Versamark all over it and covering with Wow Neutral Ultra Shimmer powder, before carefully heat embossing it.
Not bad for .50p and a little TLC.
Better get some jobs done now ;)

Little Busy Bee lol

So hard to get a good picture of this card as it's sooooooo sparkly lol. It's one of the decoupage stamps from Imagination Crafts. I love these as they are so versatile and I can use them in so many ways.
I decided to keep this one simple, and embossed all the layers with Wow's Silver Sparkle Regular, a gorgeous sparkly powder when it's heated. Then coloured in sections of the snowflake with a water brush and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. The edge of the base image was inked around the edge with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.
More versions will follow as I'm making a start on my Christmas cards lol. Elizabeth xxx

Dragons Dream TIO #125 "Misty Autumn Glaze"

This time it's my turn to head up the team over at Dragons Dream TIO. I've chosen the theme "Misty Autumn Glaze" and would like to see you use Mica/Ink Mists, Autumn Colours, Glaze and at least one real stamp on your tag.
I cut out a whole heap of the Mini Tattered Flowers fastened them together with brads and laid them on my craftsheet alongside of my tag. Then I gave the whole lot a spritz with water, followed by a mixture of colours of Mica. I love using the copper shades along with bright vibrant purples. I then scrunched up the flowers and left to dry. I used a heat tool to dry my tag, then used a leaf stamp from Craft Stamper and embossed with Wow powder, fantastic stuff!
The Autumn stamp is by Inkylicious, I like to have at least one word somewhere on my tag. Once the flowers were completely dry I arranged them on my tag and added some Glossy Accent rain drops and a heart paper clip which has been lurking on my desk for ages. I hope you enjoy our challenge this time, pop over via the link on my sidebar to check out my teamies fantastic artwork, and join in the fun, and please don't forget to use at least one real stamp on your tag. TIO# 84 Let's Face It!

Our dream this week over at the DragonsDream Challenge blog is "Let's Face It" led by the very creative Wanda. I decided that my dream would be pastel and pretty this week, not like me at all lol!
I made these paper roses back in March and yes Frankie, they are the same one's that I  showed to you at the NEC lol, finally they have a home! I used a crealies die to cut out three of two different sized flowers in some Anna griffin paper. I then layered them up with a brad through the centre, and gave them a spritz with water. Then starting with the middle flower I scrunched it up towards the centre, and worked my way through all six layers like that. The flower was then left to dry out. They background is inked up with a mix of spun sugar, victorian velvet, milled lavender, dusty concorde and black soot. The Pre-Raphaelite Lady's face is from a theme plate by Non Sequitur (another Stampman bargain from Port Sunlight lol), stamped out with black soot, and coloured in using Lyra Polycolour pencils. I used an Anna Griffin flourish stamp in black soot, and again with a versamark pad, and brass sparkle embossing powder. Once the roses were dry I gave them a spray with the gold spray and sparkle, not only does this make them sparkle, but it also holds the flower in shape. I did have a piece of black ribbon to go through the top of my tag, but some how lol, it's disappeared. I know how can I loose things on this "o so tidy desk". Hope you enjoy our challenge this week and pop on over to join us, just click on the DragonsDream logo on my sidebar for a direct link. Love Elizabeth x

Play Date Cafe Challenge 72

Have been having a play with one of my new templates from Crafters Workshop.  The background was created by brayering a mixture of tuscan satin, pink lace and blue brocade silkies from Imagination Crafts.  I chose two of the four birdcages from the template, and then used a versamark inkpad through it. I then embossed it with silver bells wow powder, and added some blue gems. The flourishes in the corner's are Tim Holtz and embossed in the same powder. I love the way that the three colours of the silkies have merged to create a rainbow. Hope you can see the sparkle, Elizabeth x

TIO 67 Time to Tag!

These are some of the stamps that my furry little friend bought me for Christmas, he always knows what I like clever lad! Another Saturday night and Oscar not only looks cute but smells gorgeous after his welcome to the New Year bath LOL. Can't believe how old he is, yet he looks (and is acting just like a puppy today) after his haircut.
So here's my offering from the pampered craft room!!!
I've been playing with brushed corduroy, vintage photo, tea dye, antique linen and black soot distress inks. With Sir Tim's Visual Artistry clear stamps, and a little help from Sheena's pearl gold sparkle WOW powder. I love this sentiment, I just think it's so true.... Hope you like Elizabeth

Rainbow Lady's Challenge 138 Chinese New Year

This week over on Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog we are celebrating Chinese New Year and have a fab prize from Joanna Sheen.
Unfortunately the very glossy cardstock I've used dosen't show up very well when scanned, I promise to sort my camera soon!! The stamp is from Inkadinkadoo and for a change I've stamped onto gold card and embossed with Sheena's red glitz wow powder, which is gorgeous! Took a while to remember how to fold the paper to make the Kimono, several attempts later I managed to make two that didn't look like shirts LOL and added a strip of gold paper as a sash (I know but I can't remeber what it's called LOL).
Happy New Year Elizabeth x

Rainbow Lady's Challenge 134 Its all new to me!

Happy New Year and here's my first challenge as a member of Cynthia's Design Team, of which I am very proud to be. Not that I ever need an excuse for a little "crafty" shopping I treated myself to some Inktense pencils from the Graphicus sale before Christmas, and I love them!
I started by stamping the  Graphicus Seahorse with versamark and then embossing with the Silver Bells WOW powder, love the holographic sparkle of this one. The Seahorse was then coloured in with the Inktense pencils and with a fine paintbrush, blended the colours together. The background is a mixture of Tumbled Glass, Shabby Shutters, Mustard Seed and Faded Jeans Distress inks. The seaweed from the same theme plate as the Seahorse was then stamped using Shabby Shutters and iridescent blue gems added. This was then mounted on to a piece of dark blue stardream card, and added to a white base card that had been tinted with Shabby Shutters and Faded Jeans distress ink around the edge. The Seaweed was stamped out in Shabby Shutters, along with some in versamark and embossed with the gorgeous Silver Bells  powder again. As you all know I love Seahorses and they will be making a appearance regularly I'm sure LOL. Elizabeth x
